DAYARC delivery, returns and warranty in the UK: the plain-English version

DAYARC delivery in the UK costs £3.95, or nothing when your order subtotal after discounts is £75 or more, and orders are dispatched from UK stock within 2 working days. DAYARC returns give you 30 days from delivery to tell us you want to send a lamp back, and both lamps carry a one-year warranty against manufacturing defects. This post puts our shipping policy, returns process and warranty in one place, in plain English, with the legal minimum alongside.

DAYARC is a new UK circadian rhythm startup making two bright-light lamps, DAYARC Rise and DAYARC Mini, and both are in stock in the UK. Being new is a good reason to be clear about the small print before you order.

How much does DAYARC delivery cost in the UK?

Standard UK delivery is £3.95. It is free when the order subtotal after any discounts is £75 or more. DAYARC Rise costs £199, so it qualifies for free delivery on its own. DAYARC Mini costs £49.99, so a single Mini does not.

Order Subtotal Standard UK delivery
One DAYARC Mini £49.99 £3.95
Two DAYARC Minis £99.98 Free
One DAYARC Rise £199 Free

The threshold is applied to the subtotal after discounts, so if a discount takes an order below £75 the £3.95 charge applies. The delivery destinations we can serve are shown at checkout; if yours is not listed, we cannot deliver there at the moment. When your order is dispatched we send you tracking details. The formal wording is in our shipping policy.

When will a DAYARC order arrive, and can you cancel it?

Both lamps are held in stock in the UK. Payment is taken in full when you place your order, and we dispatch within 2 working days, Monday to Friday, excluding UK bank holidays. When your order leaves us we email you tracking details, so you can follow it to your door. Ordering a DAYARC lamp walks through every step from checkout to first use.

If you are ordering with a date in mind, the clocks go back on Sunday 25 October 2026, and the darkest mornings run from mid-December to mid-January, when sunrise in London is after 08:00. An order placed this week is in use well before either.

You can cancel before dispatch for a full refund to your original payment method; because we dispatch quickly, contact us with your order number as soon as you can. Once a lamp has been dispatched, the returns process below applies instead.

How do DAYARC returns work?

You have 30 days from delivery to tell us you would like to return a lamp, then 14 days to send it back. In order:

  1. Tell us within 30 days of delivery. Contact us with your order number and say you want to return the lamp.
  2. Send it back within 14 days of telling us. The lamp should be complete and handled only as far as you needed to assess it, much as you would in a shop.
  3. Return postage. For a change-of-mind return, you cover the cost of sending it back. If the lamp is faulty or not what you ordered, we cover reasonable return costs.
  4. Refund. Your refund goes to your original payment method once we receive the item.

The 30 days runs from the day the lamp is delivered, not the day you order. If you are between the two lamps, DAYARC Rise vs DAYARC Mini sets out the trade-offs before you order.

One check before ordering: the NHS advises choosing a UV-free lamp and checking with a GP first if you have an eye condition or take medicines that increase light sensitivity. Both DAYARC lamps use UV-free LEDs; are SAD lamps safe? covers the GP question.

How do DAYARC returns compare with your legal rights?

For online, phone and mail orders, GOV.UK sets out that customers have the right to cancel within 14 days of receiving an item and then 14 days to return it. The seller must refund within 14 days of getting the goods back, and customers may handle the item as they would in a shop.

Our 30 days to tell us is longer than the 14-day legal minimum; the 14 days to send the item back is the same. The law is a floor, not a ceiling, and our policy sits above it. Refunds go back to your original payment method once we receive the item, and the legal 14-day limit after the goods come back applies to us as it does to any UK retailer.

What if the lamp arrives faulty or is not what you ordered?

Contact us with your order number as soon as you notice. For faulty or incorrect items we cover reasonable return costs. Within 30 days of delivery that can be a return and a refund; a fault in how the lamp was made is also what the warranty is for, with a repair or a replacement as the outcome.

GOV.UK also sets out your rights on faulty goods: a full refund if an item is faulty, not as described or does not do what it is supposed to, and a repair or replacement if it is returned within 6 months. Nothing in our policy takes those rights away.

What does the DAYARC warranty cover?

Both lamps carry a one-year DAYARC warranty covering manufacturing defects for one year from delivery. It does not cover accidental damage, misuse or normal wear.

Returns and warranty are different things with different clocks:

30-day returns One-year warranty
What it is for Changing your mind, or a lamp that arrives faulty or incorrect A manufacturing defect that shows up after delivery
What you get A refund to your original payment method A repair or a replacement
Who pays return costs You, for a change of mind; DAYARC, for faulty or incorrect items DAYARC covers reasonable return costs for a faulty lamp
Time limit Tell us within 30 days of delivery, then 14 days to send it back One year from delivery
Condition or exclusions Complete, and handled only as needed to assess it Not accidental damage, misuse or normal wear

How do you contact DAYARC about an order?

Everything above starts the same way: contact us with your order number, whether you are cancelling before dispatch, returning within 30 days, reporting a fault or making a warranty claim. Your order number is in your confirmation email.

About DAYARC

DAYARC is a new UK circadian rhythm startup. We make two bright-light lamps for the morning: DAYARC Rise (£199), a full-size lamp rated at 10,000 lux at approximately 30–36 cm, with four brightness settings, a 15 to 60-minute timer and adjustable height and angle; and DAYARC Mini (£49.99), a compact lamp rated at 10,000 lux at approximately 25 cm, with a folding stand that doubles as its cover. Both use UV-free LEDs and run from the mains. We publish plain specifications with the measuring distance, we do not make medical claims, and we write the DAYARC Journal to help people build a simple morning light routine around their own daily rhythm. Both lamps are in stock in the UK and dispatched within 2 working days. You can read more about how we think on our approach page or compare the two lamps.

This article is general information, not medical advice. Bright light is not suitable for everyone; check with a GP if you have an eye condition, bipolar disorder or take medicines that increase light sensitivity.
